TESTIMONIES RECEIVED

2/12/2004

I know God is forgiving God, a good God, and worthy to be praised.

In spite of my shortcomings, I am forgiven and continue to be blessed when at times I do not really realize it.

Through hard times, I am learning that it is only a test of our sincere trust in the Lord. Through difficult health situations in my family, I have truly learned to trust in the Lord and never give up. When doctors have failed, he has personally shown me that he is a miracle worker, and a comforter in the time of need. I will never doubt his power. I thank God when things are not as good as I think they should be, because I can go to him in prayer. He knows best and through these trials and test he shows me the light when I am blinded by my limited human thoughts.

God continues to bless me in so many ways, I just have to praise him, trust in him and let him guide and mold me.

I pray that we all can find comfort in his goodness, and grace so we will praise him continuously. Not relying on our worldly abilities, he has given us our talents and not earned by ourselves. We must pray to God to give us the wisdom and understanding to do his will, not ours. I pray that I can be a light to some brother and sister (young in the faith) showing that God is a forgiving God, a good God, and worthy to be praised.

May God Continue To Bless Us

As Christians, we are to be known as people who love others. "By this all men will knkow that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another" (John 13:35). The best way to attrack the lost souls to Jesus Christ is to love them unconditionally.

But perfect love begins with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. When you have accepted Him as your Lord and Savior, you can truely feel the love of God in your life. The Holy Spirit will empower you to receive God's love, believe it, and shre it with others. "God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him" (1 John 4:16).

Love is what abundant life is all about. To spend your life without discovering how to love God and others is to miss the whole point of life.

On August of 1997, I was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. My doctor determined that surgery would be the best method of treatment. The following month I under went a procedure called Radical Retropuhic Prostatectomy (the removal of the gland). There was no need for follow up with Chemotherapy or Radiation. My healing was all-natural and my doctor's most recent visit which represented six years after surgery, showed no signs of reoccurrence.

My deep faith and trust in God has helped me to preserve over this critical period of my life. (He is my healer and my rock)

In 1969, I joined a church in the metropolitan area and become a working member of that church. I would like to start where it all begins. During my tour in Vietnam, I was severely wounded. And returned to a hospital in the area. During that time I became very bitter and angry with the system that I had promise to uphold. My anger was so bad, it ate at me like cancer. "The devil had me on the run."

My uncle, who is now deceased (God rest his soul), invited me to attend a church with him, which we later joined. After my church orientation, my pastor (deceased) invited me to sit down and talk with him about nothing in particular, but during that conversation he told me (he did not ask me) but told me that, I would become The Chairman of the Church's Scholarship Program. I don't know to this day what God told him about me or what he saw, but whatever it was, I am so glad that he took an interest and time with me to show me that God had some work for me to do. This was the beginning of my new life.

God sent two men in my life that started my recovery from my bitterness and anger and God took hold of my life and brought me this far by faith not by sight. It is so amazing how life come to a full circle. In retrospect, I was a Junior Sunday School Superintendent during my youth. Even though I stopped attending Sunday School regularly when I went into the military, God continued to walk with me, even when I was not walking with Him. Today He has me teaching Sunday School. Only the majesty of our Father. There is a Scripture, Proverbs 22:6 that says, Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

I truly believe that God led me to Mount Horeb through a very dear friend. I received an invitation to join the Layman's League. Immediately I went to work and I have been working for the Lord every since. God was directing things through my Pastor, the Deacon Board and you, the Congregation, to approve me to become a Deacon (Servant). I thank God for my walk with Him and you. He has brought me from a mighty long way. "Praise be to the Lord." I give Him all the praise. He is not through with me yet.

I am here today because GOD sent his beloved son JESUS CHRIST into this world in the flesh. He taught and showed man kind how to live and do the things GOD our heavenly father wanted us to do to please him.

He went to the cross, gave his blood, died, was placed in a sepulchre, rose and gave more intructions to his disciples and was taken up to heaven, making it possible for all to have ever lasting life.

All who gives themselves to him are able to go about in this world without fear, following the instructions that are given by the HOLY SPIRIT and live a jubilant life for he supplies all your needs and is always with you.
