"WHAT'S YOUR RESPONSE?"

There is nothing quite as disconcerting as to have something to occur that requires a response, but for which there is none. For example, it is unsettling when one poses a question to another only to have the person to whom the question is posed to assume a posture of feigned ignorance. Another case in point is when someone completely ignores the comments, conversation and/or request of another. For the younger generation, this is what is referred to as "ig-ing" someone. I declare, it can indeed be troubling when someone fails to respond when their doing so is the appropriate thing to do.

This being the case when it comes to our interactions with another, it's even more tragic when considering the nature of our non-responsiveness to the Almighty God. For all that God is and all that he has been known to be, He is still being "ig-ed" by his people. In spite of the revelation of who He is being expressed and conveyed in multitudinous ways and means, He remains the God who is completely ignored in the form of the comments, conversations and the request that He makes. It seems unimaginable, but God the creator is subjected to non-responsive behavior by those whom He has created.

It should never be said that we as the children of the Most High fail to respond to the Eternal Now that is in our midst. For all of the responses that we can and should lavish upon our Lord, they all can be placed squarely under the rubric of worship and praise. Upon one occasion, the Psalmist stated that one of our responses be to, "...worship and bow down, … [to] kneel before the Lord our maker.” (Psalm 95:6) Upon another occasion, the Psalmist stated that a proper response should be to, "Let everything that hath breathe praise the Lord...” (Psalm 150:6) For this reason, I have decided that worship and praise are my response to the God of my salvation. This, however, may or may not be true for you. Thus, I must ask the question, "What's your response?"
